­What do you have to do to enable the Plazox service?

In the case of physical stores, we take care of enabling the split payment service for the Ingénico MOVE-5000 (wireless) POS terminals and all wireless terminals installed after 11 October 2021.

 

Once the service has been activated on the terminal, customers who have a card with the Plazox service enabled by their bank, can now split payment if they wish. Remember that it is advisable to mark your business with the Plazox logo to inform your customers of the availability of the service in your business.

 

In the case of e-commerce, we take care of enabling the split payment service on our company’s virtual POS. Once the service has been activated on the virtual POS, customers who have a card with the Plazox service enabled by their bank, can now split payment if they wish. Remember that it is advisable to include the Plazox logo on your web to inform your customers of the availability of the service in your online store.

 

In general, the Plazox instant payment splitting service is available in most sectors of activity with POS terminals provided by financial institutions (for both online and physical purchases), with the exception of purchases made in casinos, charities and NGOs, massages and saunas, telephone top-ups, motorways, transactions classified as low value and unattended POS.

What do your customers have to do to split payment for their purchases?

In the case of physical stores, customers only have to initiate payment with their personal credit card - activated by their bank for this service - enter their PIN and follow the instructions on the terminal. If their card has the payment splitting service activated, they will be shown the instalment options and can decide on the spot whether or not they want to split payment and over how many months.

 

In the case of e-commerce, during the payment process, if their card has the Plazox service activated, they will be shown a simple screen where with a single click, they can decide whether they wish to split payment or not and over how many months.

What kind of purchases can be paid in instalments with the Plazox service?

Purchases with a minimum amount of €60 or €100, depending on the sector of activity and as long as the business supports Plazox. After agreement with their bank, stores can raise the limit of this minimum amount up to 500 euros.

 

The sectors of activity for both minimum amounts are:

  • From €60 for travel agencies, hotels, passenger transport, jewellers, vehicle rentals, leisure and entertainment, mail order/telephone order, retail trade and purchases other than food in hypermarkets.
  • Minimum amount of €100 for food purchases in hypermarkets and supermarkets, petrol stations, pharmacies, drug stores and restaurants.

How many instalments can payment for purchases be split into?

Purchase payment can be split over 3, 6, 9 or 12 months, as long as the amount of each monthly instalment is at least €20.

When will you be paid for your customer’s purchase made with split payment?

You will receive the full amount of the sale in the same way as the rest of your credit card sales.

Does the customer have to do any paperwork or wait for approval?

The customer does not have to do any paperwork, fill in any questionnaires or wait for any additional approval. They only have to give their consent by following the instructions on the terminal.

What terms and conditions will apply to the customer?

The terms and conditions already agreed in the customer's contract with their bank will apply, as the bank is the issuer of their credit card.

Is the Plazox service available at online stores?

Yes, split payment is offered in the same way at the virtual POS. It is validated with a single click and the customer is authenticated in the same way as a non-split payment online purchase.

Which cards have this service?

Each card issuer decides on which cards it will activate the Plazox service. Cards subscribed by legal entities are not included in the service.
